If I'm packing a couple of bearings on a trailer, I just do it by hand. When I'm rebuilding equipment and need to pack 100+ bearings at a time, a packer is invaluable.
Picked up a 1" CP impact at an auction recently. Thought I had it ID'd as a 6920 based on the handle configuration and controls, but the motor housing design is slightly different and the hammer mechanism is greased, not oiled. I could use some help figuring out just what this thing is...
Then take them back.
QC on HF items is bad in general, you should always look them over before buying. Of course, since they're in the community box, I'm assuming you didn't buy them, so blame the yahoo who did.
This is very very basic for anyone who's worked on older cars or current larger vehicles. Anyone who's only worked on cars made in the last 25 years, though, could very reasonably have never seen one.
Is this used in a commercial setting? Greasing once a month is severe overkill for typical personal use, I'm wondering if you have all of that grease gumming things up.
Sorry, you're totally and completely wrong here. An impact wrench gets things done faster and easier, but it's rare that you couldn't do the same thing with regular hand tools. It's just slower. In fact, a long breaker bar or a bar with a pipe will often move things that anything except the most...
I don't think you've proven that the tool is fine yet, but it's not my choice. If it were me, I'd be hooking up a gauge at various points to see if the pressure is dropping too much. If the compressor maxes out at 125 PSI, I'd just remove the regulator. Really, a 125 PSI compressor is really...
This is where you're running into problems understanding the issue. Until the compressor kicks on, the rated air output on it is meaningless. You run the tool off of the tank, the pump is there to recharge the tank. If your compressor isn't kicking on, your assumption that you don't have enough...
How about trying to understand how things work and figure out where the problem is? Your problem is not that the compressor is too small, anyone who says that has no knowledge of air tools at all.
