Enginerd: Sorry I didn't respond sooner. By accident the tapered side of the RACEDECK edge tiles sit just about half-way under the rubber garage door seal. From the outside you cant see them when the garage door is down. The rubber seal must j-u-s-t hide them. What I have seen as a benefit...

Yes...you can mix 12 in. and 18 in. squares. Depending on the pattern you design, you obviously have to mate three 12's with two 18's.... if you know what I mean. Otherwise the interlocking system is universal throughout their tiles.
