I'm looking for a jaw for a craftsman 5197 I picked up. The dynamic was replaced with a smooth jaw and I'd like to get a knurled one to replace it. Jaws from a rock island 574/594 also fit it. -Scott

Picked this one up over the weekend. 5197 not sure on the date as I need to clean it up to read it better but it was made in April of whatever year it turns out to be. Need to find a jaw for the static as it was replaced with a custom smooth jaw at some point. -Scott

Yes the jaws of the vise are smooth. The divots on the front are indeed casting flaws which I considered filling but chose not to. I had some spot putty at the shop but got impatient with getting it done. -scott
