I'm looking for a jaw for a craftsman 5197 I picked up. The dynamic was replaced with a smooth jaw and I'd like to get a knurled one to replace it. Jaws from a rock island 574/594 also fit it.

Picked this one up over the weekend. 5197 not sure on the date as I need to clean it up to read it better but it was made in April of whatever year it turns out to be. Need to find a jaw for the static as it was replaced with a custom smooth jaw at some point.

Jrobb: wow thanks, talk about getting right on it! That's perfect. Now I just need to see if I can find a used jaw or if I need to buy a new set. Thank you VERY much.
Anyone have any rock island or craftsman 5197 jaws laying around? Hahaha

I recently scored this vise on craigslist. Craftsman 5197. The jaw on the dynamic has been replaced with a custom smooth jaw and I'd like to get it replaced. Does anyone know if the jaws of a rock island 574/594 would fit? Could anyone get dimensions? The look very close but I dont have a set I...
Anybody have or know where I can get a swivel lock nut for a columbian 603? Parts from another vise cross over? I don't have the vise in my hands yet to check the dia/pitch of the threads.

I recently scored a very lightly used Miller 211 on craigslist for $550. I decided that it needed a place to live here is what I came up with for a cart.

Edit:
And here it is ready for work.

Second edit: and here it is in its final resting place

Yes the jaws of the vise are smooth.
The divots on the front are indeed casting flaws which I considered filling but chose not to. I had some spot putty at the shop but got impatient with getting it done.

Here is an athol 614 1/2 that I picked up on Facebook marketplace for $60. Guy was asking $100 and I'm glad I didn't look at it In person before agreeing on $60 because it is in great shape (though rusty) and I may have paid the $100. Thus vice will be a gift for my brother.
I took the vice...
as someone that uses a grinder daily in their profession, I have to say that hand position would get you hurt every time. there are other things at play besides comfort, namely the forces which are applied to the grinder by you and the work/torque from the disc. I could not grind anything...
here's my oddball vise I just finished sprucing up. it's a reed 103 1/2 s. never seen one like it and I'm under the impression that all 100 series reeds were fixed base, the 200 were swivel. just picked this up at an auction last week. has smooth tool steel jaws and a pretty tight screw. it was...
