    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT New 28' X 38' Garage Build in Portland

I ran 110VAC wiring to my camera locations under the eaves during construction, so they are hardwired power but Wi-Fi network based. I’m using Ring cameras which are OK but not sure I’d recommend them over any other brand, their products are basically solid but not really cutting edge...

Yes I think that would work well.

I have a similar network situation as you (building distances, Wi-Fi vrs conduit, etc) and for the first year or so had run with Wifi6 (ISP provided) mesh in the house and across the space between the house and the shop. It worked ok for non-demanding tasks (playing music, using an iPad, etc)...

Yeah those rearends used to be highly desired by Mustang owners before rear disc conversion kits were commonplace. These days the Lincoln brake parts are getting harder to find, and the factory gears in them are so tall you have to change them for performance anyway, so not as much demand but...

That probably would keep the slab cleanest, if the builder thinks they can’t cover it well enough if they poured it earlier. One thing to remember is most sealers and coatings can’t be used until the slab has cured/dried internally to a certain stage, so if they wait until the very end to pour...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT FIRE Destroyed Garage & New Rebuild FINALLY!

Glad your ankle wasn’t snapped in all that, the angle it caught you looked very bad. Hard to say what the scaffolding would have done, I think after examining the tilted door and twisted tracks I wouldn’t have trusted the tracks to hang on to the door tight. But I do see why you were hoping...

I really like the Advantage lift! First class heavy duty construction and no problems to date. I got the roller hydraulic jack with it and that has also worked well, I used it recently for a front brake job/rotor replacement on our SUV, The concern about gathering too much stuff is real 😜 ...

Looking good! Just a question on vinyl siding, the cold, and basketball- will it be a problem for the siding if it gets hit by a shot that’s wide of the backboard when it’s cold out? Or maybe no one ever plays or takes shots when it’s that cold?

Wow thanks for that video, very crazy to see that happen and glad it didn’t spread to the house or any neighboring buildings. Did they ever figure out what caused the fire? What inside were you able to salvage? I imagine with things inside burning for a long time before it got through the...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT Rowan Garage

I need to get some newer pictures posted- first thing I realized when I started to work on cars is that my big fixed workbench in front of the lift didn’t leave me enough room to roll in the cherry picker engine hoist and pull an engine. So I moved all the stuff that wasn’t on wheels over to in...

I wonder if the clutch and/or bearings in your A/C are starting to seize up, ruining the belt that is shared with the power steering. The A/C pulley has a clutch that is normally disengaged, it takes power to lock it up and turn the A/C on (are you sure that power wasn’t accidentally engaged to...

I’m looking for recommendations on gutter caps, care to share a brand name for these? What’s involved installing them?

Nice garage with a lot of potential. I think you determine window orientation by where the drain holes are?

Thanks jbrentd- yes the guy that installed it for Advantage at the show delivered it fully assembled on a flatbed trailer. Quite a methodical process, once he got the trailer backed up to the garage he did a lot of incremental things to get it raised it up on its casters and drove the trailer...
