    Garage Opener

So I bought a universal garage door opener (chamberlain clicker) and I have these garage door openers. I programmed the remote but it opens both doors at the same time. The remote has two different buttons and I made sure to program each button to a different door. Anybody know what the deal is...

    My blank slate

I was going to just squeegee water out. I'm going to try and do it as much as possible outside if I can. There are also other ways to wash a vehicle other than using tons of water. And if I'm doing a bunch of detailing in the garage I will in the future do fixtures on the sides also. But a...

    My blank slate

Ok so it's not TOTALLY a blank slate but for me it's good enough. 630 sq. ft garage if I remember correctly. We just moved in Friday so keep that in mind. I do automotive detailing so this garage will get geared somewhat towards that. But everything I do will make it more useful all the way...

    Mobile detailing?

Anybody here detail or do mobile detailing? I just started it as a side job since there is no one here that does mobile detailing and the dealerships all charge high. I have only been doing it for a couple weeks and the response has been amazing. I'm already booked out 2 weeks. I'm priced...

What size sledge hammer do you use?

I got the BASH ones for work as a diesel mechanic. I will say that they are worth the money. I got a 8 and 2.5lb sledge both with 16 in handles. I called the 8lb one 'Thor' cause it didn't take to many swings with that thing to get something moving. For most of the jobs I did it didn't take...

    First shed build

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone's suggestions so far! The build is coming along very well so far with my uncle help as I have no carpentry expierence! We went with 10x12. Did 2x6 GT wood for the floor with 12in. OC. Floor is gonna be 5/8 plywood. We built the sidewalls last night and...

    First shed build

I'm not really sure on what my 'limits' are on size. We are renting the lot but own the house. I know for sure that siding has to match the color of the house and I think shingles do to. Not a big deal there.

    First shed build

O great and wise GJ! I come to you seeking wisdom and advice! After much pricing and planning me and my wife have decided to build our own shed. We are getting all of our 2x4's for free so that will help with the cost ALOT. I am thinking of building a 10x12 as this will hold my small four...

    Hammer time!

What's the general consensus of these hammers? I have only had them a week or so but I really like them a lot. From left to right they are 8 lb, 2.5lb, 24 oz. The 2.5 feels really well balanced.

What tool, Job or Task Intimdates you?

Using a press on something that's really stuck. Cause it seems like every press ever made requires you to be directly in the path of destruction if something goes bad. Never have liked them.

Being a mechanic. ..and can't do it any longer what's next?

I second what cruiser said. I have thought about being that or a parts guy. Having knowledge of the systems and how they work is a definite advantage in both areas.

    Air lock

Put device onto surge tank/radiator cap, hook up air, pull down to 20+ in hg and then stick the fill hose in a 5 gal bucket full of coolant and fill system. Pretty straightforward.
