Its just that I saw a couple pics of the chrome plated ones that looked in pretty bad shape, probably just hard used. Not much of a worry for me I tend to keep my tools oiled anyway and kinda prefer the black atramentized ones.

I'll answer my own question. Apparently there is a USA division called KNIPEX Tools LP and the 08 designation is for the US knipex tools only. Thats why I couldnt find it in the german catalogue. Unfortunately the USA site doesnt list the model number designations like the german site does. Oh...
