I used the Maxline 3/4 kit and out in a loop. You likely don't need a loop, but I did it for overkill. One thing you might consider IP putting the drops in hard pipe. I did that to save the flexline for the loop at the ceiling.

I am sure you will get different opinions, but I have a vapor barrier between the steel and blown in insulation in my pole building. The builder said it was a must if I was heating the building.
Thanks. I ended up making a loop around the entire shop and put in 5 drops. Not sure you really need a straightener, but then again I put in twice as many clips.

Made some progress today. None of my projects are complete without several trips to the hardware store. Turns out I should have bought a bigger kit, I ran out of line before completing the project. I forgot to calculate the drops in my line usage, so I bought another kit and turned my...
Only reason hp matters is for current draw. If your full load amperage(FLA) is 19, your motor is somewhere between a 3 and 5 hp motor, depending on the efficiency. The starter you showed was for a 2 hp motor which should have a FLA rating around 8 amps. That is likely why you let the smoke...
Here is a link to the straightener.

I know some people have made their own using pipe plugs like this...
What hp is the motor?
New starters aren't that expensive. The are used to switch high current loads and control the arcing at the switch contacts. You could probably use a breaker, but they are not designed for repeated switching and the contacts in the breaker will eventually fail. You...
I used 6 mil plastic sheeting. I tried to install it in two 20' x 50' sheets. They were just too big to handle. I put it up with staples.

I used the white dura-panel liner from Menards. It is pretty thin, 0.0128" unpainted, 0.0145" painted. Panels were 36" wide.
Here is a link to what I used:
