Found this in my old man shed. He placed it in a box of saw guides but I believe this isn't related to carpentry. Looks automotive to me, I suspect it to be a brake pad spreader.
There are no markings on said tool, hence no clues I could use.
thats great for your tool boxes, but what about sliding trays.
i was thinking of wiring up an alarm to a switch similar to a door of a car, so once the trays are opened, the alarm will sound (ie. forced entry).
Anyway to increase security of those toolboxes? I have been thinking if it is possible to retrofit an old car alarm; complete with charging circuit and backup battery.
Thinking back, most of us make our living with our tools and with each and every tool being added, I think a cylinder lock isnt...
to me thats a very good price. not sure what they retail in your side of the world, but here in oz, a set of channellocks are like $30-70. so $3 is at most 10% of retail
