forgive me for not knowing much of the uk tool market, but are the Kennedy/Homak ones an Option? or are they simply not meeting your requirements? just curious.

I guess I would have something to say, as even with other companies (forget craftsman/sears) would allow POs to secure boxes that would be acceptable for this work/environment for a better price, except that, at least in the OPs story, he did shop around, and see out a company that would work...

+1 on the Wright wrenches. they have nice thick beams which are very comfy to wrench on, USA made w/ US steel, usually less expensive than similar snappy or williams, very similar in pricing to Proto. However, i've heard/seen that they really only offer one intermediate pattern vs long/short.

anyone got pics of the top box? I might be interested in buying the chest off of one of you if the quality's really that good. I already got a 25yr old mini boom box out in the garage that serves me fine but popping in a CD now and again would be nice.

Kennedy. Van Wert, OH. nowhere near as common as any of the others, but I've seen a few great deals on CL pop up for a proline roller cab and a red top box. afaik only their cantilevered tool box is being outsourced, the rest has some options. the cheaper brown crinkle ones im not a fan of though.

anyone got an Opinion of the Wright-branded torque wrenches? There's one on the local CL for $50 i was thinking about jumping on it.

gee, I would have thought that there would have been a little more support for the loggerhead stuff. there's an open-end version of the Bionic Wrench called the Bionic Grip. Yeah, it's gimmicky, but at least it's American. I'd think it would be worth the cost just to have one to try...
