    which cantilever box

forgive me for not knowing much of the uk tool market, but are the Kennedy/Homak ones an Option? or are they simply not meeting your requirements? just curious.

a good way to spend about $18,000 with snap on

I guess I would have something to say, as even with other companies (forget craftsman/sears) would allow POs to secure boxes that would be acceptable for this work/environment for a better price, except that, at least in the OPs story, he did shop around, and see out a company that would work...

    Wrench advice!

+1 on the Wright wrenches. they have nice thick beams which are very comfy to wrench on, USA made w/ US steel, usually less expensive than similar snappy or williams, very similar in pricing to Proto. However, i've heard/seen that they really only offer one intermediate pattern vs long/short.

New blue Kobalt tool box at Lowe's

anyone got pics of the top box? I might be interested in buying the chest off of one of you if the quality's really that good. I already got a 25yr old mini boom box out in the garage that serves me fine but popping in a CD now and again would be nice.

    pickin out a roll cab

Kennedy. Van Wert, OH. nowhere near as common as any of the others, but I've seen a few great deals on CL pop up for a proline roller cab and a red top box. afaik only their cantilevered tool box is being outsourced, the rest has some options. the cheaper brown crinkle ones im not a fan of though.

Red Wing Shoes - made in china!

anyone have details on Rocky Boots? http://www.rockyboots.com They are an ohio-based company, and i see several of their "DUTY" line boots (postal, military) proclaim "USA Made; Berry Compliant" I do not, however, see many of their models proclaiming as such. I do like some of their designs...

Torque wrench brands to stay away from?

anyone got an Opinion of the Wright-branded torque wrenches? There's one on the local CL for $50 i was thinking about jumping on it.

Can Craftsman tools get anymore gimmicky?

gee, I would have thought that there would have been a little more support for the loggerhead stuff. there's an open-end version of the Bionic Wrench called the Bionic Grip. Yeah, it's gimmicky, but at least it's American. I'd think it would be worth the cost just to have one to try...

US General Tool Cabinet/Box/Side Boxes from Harbor Freight Recommendations

When i first joined this board HF in my area had signs posted all over than the 20% coupon was not valid for the tool chests. It had been like that for months around here(probably over a year now) so afaik that was a corporate thing. investigating here lotsa people were claiming they got these...

Made in America: What's In Your Home?

I'll be more surprised if they managed to fill the house back up with decent stuff for roughly what they paid for all that garbage. I've been trying to take this into my tool collection, but stuff like pliers, air ratchets, compressors, ratcheting box-end wrenches, drills, etc you are VERY...

Air compressor in garage attic - Not your typical compressor thread

one possibility is you could have the drain valves piped to a shared outlet, then you only need to use that one automatic drain timer you picked up. one would think based on pipster's post above is that the majority of cooling and condensation would occur in the remote, 60gallon tank, so i would...

Next on GJTV news: Lowes puts my life and my family's life at risk!

I would say that this unit was improperly marked, checked, and resold. I think I would demand a new dryer PROPERLY converted on their dime. Just using/testing that unit once with the improper conversion could have damaged more than just what the naked eye can see. being that it's their...

    Keeping Track of Loaned-Out Tools

I don't necessarily mind loaning tools, but i like the 3-times and you're buying your own policy. You lose it you're buying me a better one, and if the tool's over $30 and you break/lose it, you better care/beg for mercy/ replace with same model/spec better condition than the original. example...
