    Overhead Detached Garage feed

It would have to run about 50', the only fitting one I've found so far is a Quadplex 2-2-2-2 for 3 phase drops that would cost $80 as quoted by the supplier. All conductors (minus the ground) are black, I guess I could mark the neutral with tape as mentioned by grounded-b. It's a question for...

    Overhead Detached Garage feed

Hi All, while I am aware that the best way to do this would be using a buried conduit, money and time do not allow for that at this time. I want to feed a subpanel in my detached garage using overhead quadplex wire rated for 100A (2-2-2-2) @ 240V 1 phase and I believe that would be to code...

Paslode PowerMaster, Plus or Pro ?

Price is exactly the same, so is capacity. Not even really debating the 1/4" difference, and both will handle both full round head (offset) and clipped head nails. Oh, and one comes already with the 1/4" air fitting (I've got like 200 of those) and oil, the other with safety glasses (only have...

Paslode PowerMaster, Plus or Pro ?

I am on the market for a framing nail gun, after doing my research I pretty much decided to go with the Paslode PowerMaster just to find out it comes in two flavors, Plus and Pro. The Plus seems to handle 3 ' 1/2 nails as opposed to the Pro being 'limited' to 3 1/4 nails, with the Pro being a...

    Car Alignment

Explain it to these guys that alignment is done on the wheel (it is)...Cambertire.com most of the alignment depends on the suspension geometry, but it also affected by the geometry of the point of contact with the ground since we're not driving overcrafts. Also, not all 4 tires wear necessarily...

    can anyone explain why?

Did you mean that it is much simpler when you're NOT working outside of your comfort zone? If so I totally agree, I can compare .625 to .0625 a lot faster than 5/8 to 1/16. An added problem I have when working with standard measurements is that I can't picture in my mind what they size up to...

    can anyone explain why?

I wasn't actually answering your question but rather what I felt had became the trend of the posts that may have drifted a little. To answer your question then (even though limited to my country of origin, Italy) we all it exactly the same but in Italian (mezzo pollice=1/2, tre ottavi=3/8, un...

    can anyone explain why?

I respectfully disagree. It works both ways, if you're used to SAE than metric is PIA and so is the other way around. In defense of the metric system it is a little bit easier to divide by 10 than by 12, not to mention that you still use base 10 when working with standard fractional numbers...

Battery charger recommendation for rust removal

Would the DieHard battery charger work well for zync plating ? The electrolysis process should be the same but in reverse. Would the washing soda work for that process as well? Just started looking into it after playing for a while with biodegradable rust remover.

World's Most Powerful Cordless Impact: Ingersoll Rand W7150

The smell is caused by the brushes being still flat and not copying the round shape of the commutator. Less contact surface means higher resistance, hence higher temperature, hence the burning smell. Once their contact surface is rounded they'll stop smelling. It happens with all electrical...

World's Most Powerful Cordless Impact: Ingersoll Rand W7150

Me want this! Finally got the W7150-KL2 from The ToolWarehouse.net. It was packaged weird, not sure if it was supposed to come with an user manual or not, only had the registration/warranty form and a safety leaflet. Can't wait to put it to the test, the boot is on its way too. Any word on...

    Craftsman: Outsource fallout

DeWalt (B&D) had a plant in Easton, MD where most of the power tools were made. Production from that plant was moved to Mexico, just past the border from McAllen, TX. Plant was closed afterward. Another B&D plant in Fayetteville, NC was closed shortly after, production was moved , again, south...

    Craftsman Industrial Full Polish Wrenches

I've had the metric set (7mm to 19mm) for almost 10 years and love it. Reading about how CM has moved to PRC produced wrenches for most of its production I casually adventured in the nearest Sears to purchase the big sizes missing from set. I did not even need to pick it up and I noticed the...
