I am not sure what the safe weight's but it is heavy. I have a professional safe company move it for me.

If I Recall the whole house vac was about 1500 installed. I would definetley recommend if you can swing it to get one. They beat a regular vac hands down. My only regret is the hose in the garage is not quite long enough to reach the far end of the garage.
