Before I start this "sitting for a long time" pressure washer, what should I do?

Get the manual and confirm what oil the pump takes. The General and Cat brand pumps on my commercial machines take pressure washer pump oil, readily available. As others have said, the pumps are typically the weak link, especially on the homeowner machines. Congrats on your new machine.

In Defense of the Radial Arm Saw

I bought a new Craftsman RAS in the early 90's. After many tries to set it up nothing would get the alignment right. Sears sent a rep. to me and he couldn't get it right either. I bought it thinking it would be more versitle than a table saw for my upcoming garage build. I got soured on these...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

My 82 HD FXR has the kickstand on the left and the oil tank on the right. The drain is tucked back in such a way that rags and cardboard are required tools for the oil change process. Put a couple of bricks under the frame on the tank side. Tilt the bike over then add pieces of wood to get the...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

IMHO there is absolutely no better tool for cutting rubber hose and molding or rope than these. My wife got me mine years ago and I love them. I am a bit confused about you "sharpening" them. Isn't it a replaceable razor blade? I still have the original blade in mine and worried about finding...

Why are they switching to galvanized steel buildings

In my case red iron was a good bit more expensive than galvanized. All the welds on my building's frame appear to be primered.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I should have bought a lottery ticket that day. As a "one more try" last tesort I gave it a yank in the tightening possition and quickly in reverse. I'll be darned if it didn't come loose! Pure luck as I'd already tried that twice and was just about to try your suggestion.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Wife told me her EZ Go Workhorse golf cart's brakes went to the floor. Added brake fluid and went to bleed brakes. Driver side bleed screw no problem. Passenger side won't budge regardles of wrench and sockets used. Applied liquid wrench with no hope of success. Fire and heat tomorrow. Fingers...

What's a nifty solution for draining gas from power equipment tanks?

Interesting that the pump mfg. considers kerosene a non-flammable liquid!

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

Even at full price the hyd. table is worth every penny. I have the 1000k model and it's great. Hope you get lucky with the coupon. I am hoping to use my 25% coupon for a Bauer cordless grease gun. I hope it doesn't end up unused since everything I own seems to use a different grease.

    Weed Killer....

I tried the vinegar/dish soap/salt mix wth pretty poor results. I think I used regular white vinegar. Is the pickling vinegar the key? I have a lot of electric fence line. It would be great to find something more natural that truly worked. Also, will it work when the grass and weeds are tall?

What type of lights for metal building?

That is really impressive. For comparison I have that same type of building except my walls are insulated as well as the ceiling, so white insulation covering. I ran unpainted plywood all the way around just shy of eight feet high, so darker and less reflective. I have tube led's sort of like...

    Propane torch recommendations

Considering my limited use I am leaning towards the HF model. I have never had an issue leaving a negative review but as a long time Internet shopper I learned to focus mostly on the 3 & 4 star reviews. Certainly not a perfect system but it generally works for me. Like others have said the...

    Propane torch recommendations

I was going to get one but the reviews were so mixed I was a bit warry. Considering the price of some of the others it may be worth a try.

    Propane torch recommendations

I have been using the green camping bottles for years, for no other reason than to use up partially empty cylinders. I had no idea there was a difference between the contents of the yellow and blue. I've never used the yellow.
