    Insulated garage doors...

I forgot to post which door I ended up with... I got quotes from 4-5 local installers. I had them to quote a 10x8 and 20x8 insulated doors with jackshaft openers. All qoutes were were within a $400. What sold me what the install job from one vendor(and the fact that they were cheaper of the...

Manifolds for Snap on Air compressor

My buddy and I are piecing together a snap on air compressor and trying to find some manifolds for it. We sourced a new compressor, but the previous owner threw the old manifolds in the scrap. Curious is anyone had any laying around off a bad compressor that would fit it or knew where to find...

    HF throatless shear

Are you still pleased with it? I have some uses for one, but probably won't be using it enough to get a high dollar one. If it proved useful, I maybe more inclined to get a nicer one...

    Floor jacks

Man, you guys are extremely responsive... It's good to hear others opinions, sometimes things are pointed out that I don't think about, so I appreciate it. I guess I've been living in a shell, I didn't realize how high these dudes can get. It never really crossed my mind to order one due to...

    Floor jacks

What floor jacks do you guys like that last? I have a Blue michellin from sams I liked that went out and a craftsman man that I hate b/c it takes 30 pumps to lift the car. I guess I could get one from Harbour freight, but I really don't want to be buying a replacement every year. Who makes...

    Floor drain

The color doesn't rely bother me, it'll eventually have grease, oil, and metal shaving on the floor anyway. Just wanted to smooth it out before I throw on some clear. Thanks for the replies!

    Batting install question

I'm guessing it's b/c the walls have dividers in it, the netting would allow them to see any voids. I thought about attempting to blow the walls myself, but everything I read said the improvement store blowers don't have enough power to pack the insulation in like the professional blowers.

    Batting install question

I've read/heard different opinions on the staple placement. *Some people say it makes a better vapor barrier to face nail the flanges to the stud and it allows the insulation expand fully. *Some sheet rock installers say it causes the screws to pop out. *Some people prefer to glue the rock to...

    Batting install question

No doubt it's different. He said he did it on small openings, like doors and windows, so it could be insulated better. Kinda ironic huh...

    Batting install question

You're not lying... I just shook my head. They qouted it installed cheaper than I could even buy the stuff in bulk at Homedepot. Hindsight is 20/20, if I'd known, I'd told them not to staple it and I'd do it the way I wanted. Below is where I pulled the bats out, split them to go around the...

    Batting install question

They had one crew that blew in some insulation in the attics of my rental properties and they did a really good job. They were particular and added bats to my attic ladders. So I felt pretty comfortable using them on my shop. I did speak to the owner and he didn't see any issues with the...

    Batting install question

I paid to have some fiberglass batting installed in my shop. A crew came and installed the rolls and bats in a 1440 sqft shop in about 4 hours. I did 2x6 walls so I could do R19 in the walls and I plan on blowing in more in the ceiling on top of the R30 bats. They compacted all the insulation...

    Floor drain

I had a floor drain put in when they poured my slab for my shop. They didn't do a very smooth when they transitioned in. Anyway, it is what it is.... Question, prior to sealing my floor, is there anything I can or need to do to smooth it up prior to sealing the floor? Maybe a little epoxy or...

    Insulated garage doors...

Wish I had a Costco around, I think the closest one is an hour away... Good point, that's what I read as I was searching through old threads... I've been reading up on sealing them. I've read that Hass makes a good 2" thick door, unfortunately, they don't have a local dealer/installer...
