I could kick myself for not buying this sooner.

I bought a DW059K for the track after getting really tired of doing 2-3 tire changes per day, by hand. 300ft-lbs of torque makes getting the lugs off a breeze. Putting the lugs back on is always done with fingers => speed handle => Snap-On torque wrench.

    Floor Jack Time

Forgive me for straying off topic just a little: What's your opinion of those US Jack jack stands? I like the look of those wide, flat saddles. (I'm debating whether I should replace my cheapo "6-ton" asian jack stands with the flat-saddle Ecco/AC hydraulic or something else.) If you don't mind...

    Floor Jack Time

The ATD-7325 is the same jack, from the same production line, just a different color. And a little cheaper. ATD is Shinn Fu's house brand.

    A unique Craftsman

Wow! Elroy using the first-person singular. (I too thought some of the wrenches look like they say 'Craptsman'.)

    Floor Jack Time

I bought mine in September 2005, which predates the current reviews on the Sears site. I wonder if they changed (Chinese) manufacturers. Mine is still rock solid. And my 6er is a heavy car. (Like any Bavarian lass, the E24 enjoys the cream puffs.) I paid $149, BTW. --- My earlier POS jack...

    Floor Jack Time

Even at the track, or when I'm only lifting one side, whenever I've got the car in the air, there's a jack stand underneath any corner that isn't sitting on the ground.

    Floor Jack Time

I had an el-cheapo "racing" jack, bought probably for less than $90 from some website or another. (It may have been a Torin.) It worked fine until there was a lateral load induced on it as the jack lifted the car and the jack wanted to walk. Realizing something was wrong, I tried to lower the...

Only things i have left of my grandfather other than memories.

I'm in the boat of cleaning it, but not stripping the original paint. The key is stopping the rust from getting any further. As for the ammunition, unless it really has sentimental value, I'd dispose of anything that isn't already inert. Old primers have a nasty habit of getting sensitive...

Where Can I Buy These Fastener Organizers Cheap(ish)?

The link no longer works, but it's still available online: Costco item #218145 (Thorsen Model 30-112)

    DIY Car Ramp

It's a better design than the OP's -- the framing is less prone to racking (at least the individual halves), the boxes are linked and the bolts are much heavier, but even with the double 2-by decking, it's already sagging under the weight. (edit: the lack of triangulation makes me question the...

    DIY Car Ramp

I was being hyperbolic. When I first bought my 6er, I was being cheap and relying on the trunk jack and jackstands. One afternoon, while raising the car to R&R the brake lines, the jack didn't so much raise the car, as pull it sideways. I wasn't paying as close attention as I should have and it...

MAXJAX paid to overhaul my garage for TV Commercial!

If Danmar wants to shoot an East-coast commercial, I'd be reluctantly willing to accept the burden of a free MaxJax and a garage make over. BTW, I do like the color scheme.

    DIY Car Ramp

The thing is, the Rhino ramps are designed to take the load on their top, not their side. And, my 235lbs (not pure muscle, sadly) can't get my grey Rhino ramps to flex, on the side or the top. (I did have to build shallow ramps, out of sistered 4x4's to reduce the approach angle from ~13° to...

    DIY Car Ramp

Okay, so I found the origin of the photos that OneTon posted (please note, this is not an endorsement -- I think the concept is nuts; they seem to think a single 2x10 can serve as a ramp for a 4,000lb car, so long as it has a single support in the middle of the span)...
