I use CFL's in my garage. I don't love them, but I don't hate them either. I find that I can't work in the garage right away, I have to turn on the lights and then come back in about 10 minutes so they'll be up to full brightness. I've had the same bulbs in the garage for about 6 years. Out...

I may be wrong, but I think that between 108 -132 is within the range of guaranteed voltage. (120V +/- 10%) I have my PC and network gear on a UPS that does power trim to reduce the voltage. But I think an AV system would have too much draw.
