Hmmmmm. If you didn’t like the nuts sticking out, I’m wondering how a turnbuckle inside would do with the rod ends of the turnbuckle threaded into tapped holes in the head casing. Then they could be put flush in the hole.

My drill press had a 11 56 stamped motor and it (motor) was power bronze, along with the press.

Interesting idea of moving the head and the column to adjust for height.
Swapping out the scissor jack for something like a barber chair would be an interesting setup. (Foot pedal it up, hold down to lower)...

Main issue people have against rattle can in general is it is more likely to show orange peel, but this isn’t really an issue with cast iron texture.
