when i was a tire tech years ago i used to see this quite often, usually with screwdrivers in big rig tires but there were the occasional channel locks in a truck tire

I suppose it depends on what all your going to be doing in the garage, if your going to be working on the cars and doing things like welding, grinding and painting than keep the wall and add a double door. if its mostly just indoor parking and tinkering/maintenance on the cars then open er' up...
