Good catch. It is loaded with aluminum and I have already dressed it away. In our plant we do a lot of aluminum and magnesium flashing removal so I know what that is.

I'm on a well and my water is extremely hard. I flush my tank every couple years or so. I just let it run until the minerals quit making noise against the bucket and move on. It's an electric unit, if that makes any difference.
These are pics of my original 1/4 HP unit. I didn't think to take any pictures as soon as I exposed the dauber damage. A lot of the mud had already been removed before these pictures were taken. I'm guessing that I broke that wire with my removal efforts.
