    Lighting Layout Help

Sorry for the LONG delay. Health issues slowed progress. Though still fighting health demands, I'm slowly finishing the garage which includes lighting. I chose vapor tight lighting that will be surface mounted. I just finished installing the conduit and hired an electrician to complete the...

    Wall Mounted Cabinets

By design, there's only two lag screws holding the cabinet into place. If you're familiar with these types of cabinets, you may know that you mount a bracket to the wall and HANG the cabinet from the bracket.

    Wall Mounted Cabinets

I did not buy the heavier duty Husky cabinet. The cabinet I purchased came well packaged and was fairly easy to assemble. The reviews were decent and I would agree. Some complained about uneven doors, but that's because they tightened all the bolts down before installing the doors. The trick...

    Wall Mounted Cabinets

I used 1/4 X 2 Lag Screws purchased at Ace. You know the type, the typical zinc-plated lag screws which I believe are a grade 2. But if not mistaken, even agreed to screw of this type has a pretty high sheer value. If it wasn't for the car I wouldn't give this another thought. Just taking...

    Wall Mounted Cabinets

Ok, so I finally got around two hanging 3 Husky wall-mounted cabinets above my workbench which went smoothly, but not without some concern. The cabinets are not designed to hold serious weight and nor is it my intention to exceed the cabinet's 50 lb capacity, yet still I worry about a fastener...

    Power Inverter

Solar is very expensive and being in a townhouse, it's not a viable solution. Interesting to read about, though.

    Power Inverter

Ok, so I'm hearing golf cart batteries repeated by a couple --- which reasonably priced inverter? So a short run of 2g cable (something I have in the house) would work well from what I'm reading? Better to keep the inverter close to the battery and run an extension cord if needed? I hope to...

    Power Inverter

Thanks guys. I'm reading through the numerous posts and trying to make heads or tails of it all. Just skimming through it, I'm still not certain which type to buy and weather it's worth the investment. Sounds like some have had reasonable success while many others --- WELL --- not so much. I'm...

    Power Inverter

Hi guys, I'm looking for a reliable but reasonably priced power inverter to operate household lights and a full size refrigerator in the event of a blackout. Any recommendations? I'm looking at power inverters for the first time and need a little education. To set my expectations. How long...

    PLT Lighting Fixture Question

No biggie. I still have 6 of 8 cords that are untouched and returnable. I'm purchasing a better grade of cable rated at 105c which far exceeds the 75c min required by ETi. A better grade of cabling is for the best when considering that these lights (and the heat that they produce) will be in...

    PLT Lighting Fixture Question

I think I may have answered my own question regarding the temperature rating required for the supply conductors. Somehow I overlooked a sticker that said 75 degrees Celsius supply conductors minimum. My cable is rated at 60 degrees Celsius. It looks like I chose the wrong cable.
