I'm just a caveman. I fell in some ice and later got thawed out by your scientists. Your world frightens and confuses me. Sometimes the honking horns of your traffic make me want to get out of my BMW and run off into the hills... or whatever.
@turnpikecrusier, I like the look of the new Wright screwdrivers / that chisel holder you received. Reminds me of the Williams WRS-1 ratcheting screwdriver with the triangular shape. How does it feel in the hand?
Wanted to wait for the official announcement from HJE regarding the caption contest before posting (and lost track of time because Cracker was playing two nights in town.) Received my 2024 Epstein's Day order Friday.
Cause what the world needs now
is another Epstein's Day order post

Thanks! Which models do you have?
I've wanted one for years and both of these just sorta fell in my lap (local estate sales). Guess I need the 504 (luckily it doesn't have a dust collection system) to round out the series unless there is another one I also am not aware of... o_O
When I found...
There are plenty of discussions about the Porter Cable / Rockwell 503 (and 504) belt sander, but how about the model 500?
Just picked up a vintage (60s likely) Rockwell Model 500 4x27 wormdrive belt sander locally for a steal. When I first saw the unit I had never heard of the behemoth (familar...
Resurecting an old want ad that's not allowing me to bump. Picked up an early 2000s 16" deep Craftsman top tool chest awhile back and it's missing one of the 2" deep drawers and slides. Drawer would measure 1-15/16" tall x 14-1/2" deep x 22-1/2" wide.
Figured it's a long shot, but maybe...
@Dave455, my F730 is a 30 tooth. For the time, it would have been considered fine tooth, but compared to today's modern ratchets, it's more of a clunker.
Also, is the 455 in your username associated with the Buick, Olds or Pontiac engine? I'm in the process (well I started the project, haven't...
Thanks Dave455. My F720 has the black plastic cover (appears to be all original too) and my F730 has a metal one but looking at other F730s, they appear to have the red plastic cover as you mentioned so mine may have been rebuilt at some point in its life. I did notice the F720A's and F730A's I...
SnapMom - Care to provide a theory (or facts) on what the "A" designation means?
My current theory (with the insight from ForrestT) is the "A" series is from a more current lineup (compared to the F720 and F730) that may have an increased internal bore that would have allowed a 1/2" gear to be...
Per the reference guide, the F710, regardless if we're talking F710A,B,C,K (kit RKRA380) or F710ALS,BK,D (kit RKRA38ALS), apears to be different than the F720/F730 series. Again, only going by the reference guide, actual results may vary.
Looking at the Snap On rebuit kits refernce guide, Snap On lists the RKRA730 kit for the F720, F720A, F730 and F730A. The validity of this statement may be incorrect based on ForrestT's experience.
Maybe I'll have to do some investigative research in person... :)
Looks like my F720 has the...
