    Great welton vise deal!

What in the actual F%*k? I'm not understanding all that jibber jabber.

Antivibe hammers vs wood vs fiberglass

I'd go with wood or fibreglass. The only advantage for a steel handle in my opinion is if you need to do a lot of prying, which you wouldn't do with a drilling hammer anyway. I swing a hammer practically every day and my hand and elbow pain went away when I switched to a fibreglass handle.

    Hammer time!

Update on the Irwin hammer. After using it for a few weeks I've changed my opinion on it. While it feels good in my hand, I've never missed or bent so many nails in my life haha. I just couldn't get used to the feel of it. If you can't drive nails, it doesn't matter how comfortable it is.

Looking to buy a new set of tinsnips

The last time I checked their aviation snips (maybe more) are made in the USA. The long cut tin snips are China though.

Looking to buy a new set of tinsnips

One of the cons of wiss is their offset snips have a large head. Something to keep in mind if you're worried about clearance issues.

Looking to buy a new set of tinsnips

I use wiss snips. A lot of guys in my trade use Malco but I believe you get more bang for your buck with wiss. With Malco you're paying almost double, if not more, for a marginally better product. You can find Wiss aviation snips on sale for 12 to 15 bucks. Keep in mind I'm mostly cutting...

    Hammer time!

I recently picked up the 20oz Irwin hammer (2nd row up, 3rd over) and I gotta say it has a nice feel to it. Has a fatter grip which feels good in my hands and a good balanced swing which makes my old hammer feel like a rock on a stick. I'm skeptical about whether it'll hold up to daily abuse or...

Tool Fools..."splain your screen name Lucy!

I get paid to install various types of siding on homes and buildings. I don't work in a garage, but I have one and I love my tools!

Tool shopping at Home Depot this afternoon. Home Depot only had the 2000 series in the journeyman style handles, so I had to take a pass on them for the D213-9NE. I don't think I'm gonna be cutting much hard steel wire and screws so this should be good enough considering I've been getting by...

    Anyone else like Channellocks?

I picked up the new E357 end cutter. I took a side by side picture with the older model to compare. So far I like them much more than the 357. They are lighter which is a bonus if you want to carry them in a tool belt. They definitely cut a lot better, I was pulling a siding nail to test them...

Wife's friends were getting rid of all kinds of stuff before moving so I managed to snag this 1/2" Challenger socket set.

I want to go metric - anyone other Americans done this

Exactly. Canada is mostly metric but SAE still has it's place. I work in construction and if I started calling out metric measurements I can just picture the look on people's faces haha. If you're not used to using SAE measurements then it's obviously going to seem confusing or inferior but if...

Who still uses corded tools, and what’s in your collection?

3 corded drills. 1 circular saw. Dremel. Angle grinder. Scroll saw. Heat gun. Palm sander. Maybe more that I'm forgetting... When I'm working in my garage I don't feel that inconvenienced using corded tools. For professional use... that's another story. I have a cordless impact driver...

The 20V line from Dewalt, or should I go Milwaukee?

I chose my dewalt driver because I found it more comfortable holding it, that's about it. I am sure the other brands are top quality too, many people on this site use them for a reason, it all depends on what you're looking for. So far the Dewalt gets the job done and has survived bad weather...
