Looks Good,
I recommend cutting the end of the all thread flush at the nut or add a rubber cap on the end like for automotive vacuum lines. I've hit my head on the left over thread once at work and that was cause enough to make sure that never happens again.
Hey,
Just a FYI
Class 150, 300, 600 etc are not pressure ratings. Its the wall thickness and type of fittings Malleable vs forged.
Standard Class 150 malleable fittings are rated for the following. Sch 40 pipe has much higher pressure ratings.
You are perfectly fine and safe with standard...
Helium conducts heat better than Argon. The difference is very slight I would guess in the 5-10% range. I have used 75/25 many times welding aluminum and it helps to get going faster and allow you to travel slightly faster but will not make up for a machine that is too small.
Make 4 equal length short pieces with 67.5 degree miters. This will make a half an octagon. Then caulk the small gaps at the top from the trim to the pole. In my opinion this has been very easy to do and looks very nice.
Thanks
Jeremy
Believe he was referring to welding stainless w/ too high amperage/too long of an arc gap and you will burn out some Nickle & Chromium that give it it's "Stainless" properties.
Is that really 14 gauge wire feeding the water heater? That is a huge fire hazard. 14 gauge is rated at 15 amps and a 5000w water heater will pull 22-25 amps usually. That needs to be corrected ASAP. Also is the water heater grounded? With the PEX connections it is no longer bonded to your...
Just to play devils advocate. I've been in plant maintenance for nearly 10 years now. Welding in both chemical plants and production plants on a sometimes daily to weekly basis SMAW, GMAW and GTAW and have only once set something on fire. That one time was a rag on the welding table in a welding...
You could but PVC exterior trim. Would make a great baseboard and would never rot. Not the cheapest option however but shouldn't break the bank so to say.
