    Vintage Craftsman tool boxes

Hey Shimbo thanks for your response. All the metal is solid, so I think preserving and clear coating is what I am going to do, and I can always do a full restoration down the road if I want.

Vintage Craftsman tool boxes should I restore?

Hi all, Thanks again for your great advice, and Mohawk Dave for his great detailed instructions (that I think I am going to try). Painting Laminate Covered MDF

kabinenroller is correct XIM 400 white, you can prime glass with it. Scuff with 120 and clean surface with xylene. You can also have it tinted close to your finish color so it will cover with less coats. I am a professional painting contractor and that's what I would use.

Vintage Craftsman tool boxes should I restore?

Hi all, I would like your thoughts whether I should restore my Craftsman tool boxes, or leave them alone. They are from 1949 and are rusty, but how far does patina go until its not patina just a rusty old box. Thanks, Michael

    Vintage Craftsman tool boxes

Hi all, Newbie here, I have a dilemma whether to restore my Craftsman tool boxes or just leave them alone. I like patina, but I am not sure how rusty it can be to look acceptable. What I have is a matching set from 1949 (bottom 99CM 4360) and (top chest 99 C 04383) I am going to try and post...
