Found this little rascal last night cleaning up my shop a little bit; honestly forgot I had it.
Little back story, when I bought my house it had a 24x26 shop in the back and my great-uncle said he had a work table he wanted to give me that my great-grandfather built some eons ago (my...
I never considered the corners. It took me a minute to convince myself I was seeing 8-63 in the bottom box because I originally thought they were paired from the get-go. I almost denied it was a '63 and assumed the "3" was actually 1/2 of an "8" stamp. But now it makes more sense. Thank you...
I appreciate the help! Finally found it, although I hate to clutter up the thread with my fuzzy pictures. Oh well! Top box is clearly stamped 6-68.
The bottom box either wasn't stamped very well or the paint has just mangled it up. Barely make out 8-63 in the photo. It's a little clear-er...
I'll keep looking, but the paint is a little bubbly and some surface rust has created a few paint craters. On the front side above the right wheel correct?

Thanks guys!
It has the smooth sides. I can't, for the life of me, locate a date on the bottom box. I have looked it over many times.
Yeah, it fits the '60s era. Or in my brain it does, I was never there.
Upon further examination I too see blemishes where screw holes would be, both jaws look that way and seem almost welded shut, not quite broken screws. Guess I'll start searching for inserts.
Mounting the 606 is troubling. I plan to build a steel work bench similar to Steve-O's, as I am again...
Here is my pair of vises. Columbian 606 and D45. I have no idea their age, but can only presume old. The 606 I bought last week and already love it. Just need to formulate a plan to mount it and be able to utilize it like it should be. The D45 I was given by my father when I first bought my...
I have been watching this thread for years trying to get some info on some old SnapOn boxes I acquired in college. Some fantastic boxes in here folks.
The stuff in my shop. I just bought the Craftsman pair from my childhood neighbor last week, had the Kobalt for a little while, got the...
