Question on relocating stairs and cutting/boxing in rafters

Thanks guys. The feeling from the people I know are the joists can be cut and boxed. This is because the joists are 2x8, the roof structure is not a 3 three point system and the original stairs connect to the joist and not a wall. I will try and speak to the builder.

    44 watt T8s vs. 34 watt T8s bulbs?

Thanks guys. I will work with the standard T8 fixtures. I noticed the increase light of the 44 watt lamps and figured I should go for the maximum lumens. My garage has 10 ceiling height which, based on the comments, will not benefit as much from the HO fixtures.

    44 watt T8s vs. 34 watt T8s bulbs?

The question was in regards to the lamps. Based on your post, I would need HO fixtures to be able to use the 44 watt HO lamps. Thanks.

    44 watt T8s vs. 34 watt T8s bulbs?

Installing more fluorescent lights in the garage and came across 44 watt (3,600 lumens) Philips T8 bulbs. This might be a basic question, but any reason NOT to run these over the standard 32 watt (2,800 lumens) T8 bulbs? Thanks in advance.
