    Grease Gun Recommendations

I bought this set last year, absolutely love it, even though it is not US made.

    Diy hvac tools

I'm not an HVAC guy, but the new R410a refrigerant runs at almost double the pressure, most likely the lineset will have to be replaced. And definitely all the other components as they would not be sized for the higher pressures of R410a.

Lock and Lube grease gun coupler

The alemite grease gun packages directly from Lock-n-lube are great buys when on-sale, I got the 555-E package, I needed to replace old cheap worn out gun. Whole package was less than $90 during Nov./Dec.

How do I cut bottom plate flush with drywall?

I would trim out with pvc board on top of the treated plate if it was mine, since it won't wick water, but if OP had to remove the protruding board, I would go back to the OMT with the half moon wood blade and use a scrap piece of wood on the floor to keep the blade off the concrete, cut a bit...

Torque wrench range for lug nuts

I have one of the 1/4" tekton and it's pretty good, better I think than the harbor freight, for $20 more I would get the tekton in 25-250 range, as it puts your torques closer to the center of the range and about a 6 inch longer handle.

Which underlayment for porcelain tiled floor?

You might want to talk with someone local who has a little more knowledge than I, but you may need to stiffen up the floor it the joists are 16" O.C. I believe rule of thumb when using tile is to space joists at 12" O.C. to keep the floor stiff enough to keep the grout lines from cracking. The...

Need some base and concrete pointers please

Saw cuts should be done as soon as possible, but no more than 24 hours after the pour, you want any potential shrinkage cracking to happen in the cuts not the surface of the slab. Cuts should be slab thickness/4 deep, maximum area between the cuts of 225 sq. ft. , which equates to 15x15, I...

Help me with a good IN LB Torque wrench

I used this to replace the intake manifold on my car, similar torque ratings, seems to be pretty decent quality, feels better than my 3 YO craftsman 3/8" and 1/2" torque wrenches. http://tekton.com/Wrenches/Torque_Wrenches/1-4-in-Drive-Dual-Direction-Click-Torque-Wrench-10-150-in-lb

My shop vacs NEVER last. Any recommendations on a shop vac that will last?

Never had much luck with the SHOP VAC brand. The Rigid seem to last much longer, but I will probably never use my vac as much as the OP does a single vac.

    Pex to Foam Board Stapler

Make sure you size out your entire system prior to buying tube, to make sure all the parts work together property. I read about lots of DIY just doing a piece at a time, and they end up with a very inefficient system, tube size too small for the run lengths, circulating pumps that don't work...

    Pump sizing help

With your 1/2" Pex, 50/50 mix, and loop at 272 feet (use about 281 feet, to account for 4 90 degree bends and a branch tee), calc is as follows: H=0.0374*1.582*281*4.970 = 82.6 feet of head (using flow rate in 1/2" pex of 2.5 gpm, velocity slightly higher than 4 feet per second, none of the Taco...
