I would think you could rip a piece of siding and nail it. It would be pretty narrow , maybe 3/4 inch wide to fit below the gray spine and the bottom. Just paint it with the siding paint like you did your other cuts. I used the ground contact starter boards on my garage but they are super pricy..
If your trusses are spaced correctly on the walls maybe for now you could get some subfloor up there and start installing part of it and skip the dormer section. You could go on the underside and put some 2x4 between the doubled dormer truss gap to tie it in temporarily. Once you have the gable...
In Southeast Missouri my last shop was metal siding and roof. Closed cell sprayed direct to metal on walls, open cell direct to metal on roof. We had hvac and it was very comfortable. My new shop I'm building thats 2x6 construction with osb sheathing and shingled roof they said open cell on all...
What bracing have you installed besides the spacers? Attic trusses require the floor and/or rigid ceiling as part of the bracing, among other braces that your plans specify. Any pictures that show the lean or areas of concern along with your current bracing ?
Yeah if the crane operator didn't get it off when he dropped the sling I could raise up and get it off. I would set the scissor lift up parallel with each incoming truss to where I would be on the clear side away from where it would set. I would reach up and catch it in center along with guys on...
My 40ft wide 6/12 attic trusses we used the metal spacers and nailed them. We installed the 3/4 subfloor as we went along with a long 2x4 down the center of the peak above the finished ceiling. Also added bracing that ran at a 45 degree angle on back of knee walls. Each angled board on wall hit...
I like the permanent stairs. I plan to put my compressor and welder in the closet along with engine hoist, stand, and jack. Also have unough room under the platform for a Motor and transmission. If you have stuff like this it needs a spot either way and takes up space the stairs do.
Not a electrician, there are plenty that will add to this but from my knowledge you are okay for max 90amp breaker being a detached structure. URD cannot be installed inside the structure. I ran 2-2-2-4 SER through my basement then used polaris type connectors to connect to 2-2-2-4 MHF that ran...
I can put an access to the rod in when I get pavement that wouldn't be a problem as long as they are still effective under the pavement. I don't know how much it matters that the soil isn't staying wet in between the house and shop once concrete fills the space
