    The VISES of Garage Journal

I checked, Home Hardware is currently using "Benchmark" as the brand for their vises and various other tools. I imagine "Home" turned out to be too generic. Not sure when @fishwatcher's vises is from but I guess mid-70s to the 80s some time. Companies were buying from Japan about then, Taiwan...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

As far as I can tell, there are really 2 RAE series, the ones from Hamilton and then the later ones from Orillia, which were lighter because of the use of Ductalloy and also the change in maximum opening. That spec change varies by model, it's not a consistent amount or percentage. @KMScott...

And for anyone searching for a vise on the spreadsheet, trying to answer the classic question "What vise is this?": Use the Ctrl + F keys (on a PC) to open a text entry field near the top right corner of the screen. Enter a name or model number, it will show how many instances have been found...

Thanks @micahd1997 . My eyes are peeled for anything about Canadian vise manufacturers but naturally I come across a lot about American makers. Nice when I can fill in a gap in the knowledge base here. Enjoying your posts too, some great finds!
