Exhaust fan to control humidity during winter months

Installed. Unit is rated at 240CFM. I've found it is still more efficient to open the garage door to ventilate and drop the humidity rapidly but I'd like to think this is certainly helping. I foil taped the flange to the ceiling and zip tied the spring loaded damper open on the soffit vent...

Exhaust fan to control humidity during winter months

Purchased an Airtitan T8, going to mate to SpeediBoot and exhaust through soffit. https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.6-in-x-14-in-x-6-in-straight-register-vent-boot-with-adj-hangers-for-hvac-duct-work.1000738155.html?

Exhaust fan to control humidity during winter months

It's not uncomfortable in the garage in general. I'd consider a dehumidifier except for the draining... I haven't got a drain in there so would need to be emptying the bucket daily. They use a lot more electricity too. I've got one on a timer on our basement running only at night during off...

Exhaust fan to control humidity during winter months

I've decided to do a ceiling installation. I've ordered an AirTitan T8, they have a built in humidistat. I'll use a register style duct adapter to get from 5x14 to 6" round, then insulated ducting out to a soffit exhaust.

Another lower cost option is a fan from AC Infinity. I purchased one of their muffin fans to put into a compressor cabinet and found it to be of good fit/finish/quality. They have a dual fan unit for C$100 I'm just not sure how to duct it through the exterior wall given it's basically flat...

Exhaust fan to control humidity during winter months

Humidex recommends their unit be installed close to the ground, about 12" off the floor. That's where the bulk of the moisture is coming from for me as it's water/snow dripping off the vehicles. That said, humid air is supposed to be lighter, but does it rise? Or put another way, is a...

Exhaust fan to control humidity during winter months

So, confirming that my attic hatch being open isn't sufficiently venting. My attic roof vents are under snow now so that certainly isn't helping. I'm going to install an exhaust fan. Debating whether to install a ceiling mount fan and exhaust out via soffit or a wall mount option...

Exhaust fan to control humidity during winter months

Bumping this thread. I've got a 800 sq ft 3 car garage that I just finished with vapor barrier and painted drywall, 2x4 walls with fiberglass batts and R60 blown cellulose above ceiling. Attic space above has two roof vents. Once the temps dropped and cars came in with moisture, the garage...
