Technically, all these are lead nuts. It is turned, drilled along the axis, #4-40 thread is cut. Next operation will be drilling a hole for the handle.
There are two possible actions now since all waxes are in the foundry. Either make as it is or stop the process and make 24 new waxes. It will require making new mold.
Some preliminary castings. To study machining sequence and make some jigs. Looks like the casting process is fine. No flaws, no voids. Letters are recognizable. I am waiting for steel castings now.
The first ones gone for $700 a piece. Taking into account time I spent on each my hourly rate was very low . I know someone then sold one of my vises for 2k. I do not see how it can be cheaper than the first batch.
