Booster pump at a distance, what size wire?

As an update to this, in case anyone is interested, or for future people who find this. I ended up measuring the voltage drop at the bottom of the hill and it was negligible. I don't remember exactly what it was but if I remember correctly it was around 2%. If that number sounds crazy, maybe...

    Is this building OBVIOUSLY bad?

@strength_and_power It's not completely resolved, but what's essentially happened with the structural side is that we're building a pole barn on the inside. Wooden framing on the inside as directed by a structural engineer. Instead of using new ceiling joists though, we've built a wooden...

Booster pump at a distance, what size wire?

It's not buried yet. I won't be able to bury it more than a couple to a few inches unfortunately. No conduit, it's just the grey outdoor wire. The reason I used the double pole originally is because it's hard to find a single pole 30 amp gfci breaker for square D home line. I was told before...

Booster pump at a distance, what size wire?

Looks like the issue was in fact having double GFCI. As a quick test, I removed the GFCI outlet at the bottom of the hill by the pump. It's been running now for 7 hours without knocking itself out. I'll wait longer before I make further changes, but long term I'll get rid of the GFCI breaker...

Booster pump at a distance, what size wire?

Sorry, I re-read what I wrote and it's not clear. The pump is working fine, until the GFCI trips. It's tripping like once every 1-5 hours. So, I have water.....until I don't. Then I have to drive down my hill and reset the GFCI. Then I have water for another 1-5 hours. Thanks, I'll check...

Booster pump at a distance, what size wire?

It's a brand new pump that I just got. Straight out of the box. It is my only source of water, but I had a different pump before that died due to manufacturer defect. I do have a meter, and I do have some other devices I can try and test at the end of the wire run. I'm not great with a...

Booster pump at a distance, what size wire?

@PCustoms Unfortunately no. This pump is the only source of water to my house, so I wouldn't be able to test the pump anywhere but where it's at. BUT, I can tell you that there's no water coming in contact with the outlet. It's inside of two water proof containers, and I keep checking it...

Booster pump at a distance, what size wire?

@PCustoms I'm guessing (emphasis on guess) that the pump is trying to draw too much power, and that's what's causing the gfci at the bottom of the hill to go off. Having said that, I'm guessing at this point.

Booster pump at a distance, what size wire?

Ok, so update to this. I decided since I had the materials, I'd try running 10/2 wire down the 350ft. I wired a gfci 110v outlet at the bottom of the hill, and at the top of the hill I used a single leg of a gfci 220v breaker. Basically, I had most of the material to do this handy, so I...

    Is this building OBVIOUSLY bad?

A small amount. I found a builder who is also an engineer. He's going to give me 3 plans with quotes. 1st plan: Tear down the building and rebuild. 2nd plan: Do what he would do and tear out the insulation/metal exterior, and fix it correctly 3rd plan: Build structures on the inside of the...

    Is this building OBVIOUSLY bad?

Haha, yeah, the spray in foam did nothing for the looks. BUT, the plan was never to leave any of this exposed. It WAS going to have all sheetrock over everything, but now I'm going to go with something much lighter. And I haven't done that yet because of the water leaks. So, at the end of...

    Is this building OBVIOUSLY bad?

As a few other people have said (I think), fixing the leaks is definitely possible, it's just really stupid that I have to. Odds are I will be putting in a drip edge over the back windows, AND building something around them to cover/help the J trim. The front and sides of the house, I'm much...

    Is this building OBVIOUSLY bad?

I think everything you said is completely valid. But, as you said "If the OP has the money". Unfortunately I do not. Tearing down the building would only happen if I were able to sue for the amount it costs. But, I think all of your observations are correct.

    Is this building OBVIOUSLY bad?

I'm using the words post and pole interchangeably probably. I was using the word pole because where I'm at, the type of structure I'm going to build on the inside is typically called pole barn.

    Is this building OBVIOUSLY bad?

The final plan is as you stated. Half the building or 30x40 is two story and will be attached to the metal studs. The walls are 2x6, and it's built very sturdily. I'm going to get better metal plates to attach everything, and I still haven't built the 2nd story, but that will have supports for...
