What's your "cleaning a grill after been sitting in wet/damp conditions all winter" go to?

I personally take my grates and flavor bars out and use a pressure washer in my Ducane about once a year. Soak the grates in dawn and water for a few hours and then pressure wash them. Comes out new.

Does anybody do wrenching without gloves & why?

if the hot wings have hop peppers sauce on them, I totally understand why. My wife burned her hands with some hot peppers many years ago, she ended up soaking her hands in vodka to get the burn to go away as the alcohol helps absorb the oil and provide relief for the burning sensation.

    Combined shop and garage thoughts?

somewhere I saw pictures of a place with a 2 gar garage for the daily cars on the main floor of the house, and then a driveway around the side of the house with access to a complete basement garage. This did 3 things, made the house look average from the street, gave a huge amount of space for...

I need an alert to let someone know when the garage door is open enough to drive under

unless there is a safety reason, open the door before you get into the car. We have a neighbor who would start the car before the door is open, then opens the door. I am glad they traded in the gas car for a tesla so CO is not a concern.

Starting a "like new" - 25 year old generator

I would guess a good chance that fitting comes out, just make sure there is not a nut inside as that is likely hard to replace.

    Mancave door - Soundproof?

not seeing your picture, but can you convert the door frame to an exterior style weather-strip. I worked in a vehicle chassis dynomometer cell that has 2 doors in 1 doorway, one opening in and one opening out, that did help with the noise a lot, but may be weird in a house layout.

    Insurance companies mandating home upgrades

Here in FL a 4 point inspection is fairly common for insurance. It checks these 4 areas. Roof Plumbing System Electrical System HVAC System My insurance company wanted pictures of the faucet supply lines for the last renewal. They never "required" and updates, but my house is built in 2000...

AC duct question after fan motor replacement

mastic is often used to seal ducts, along with a mesh tape that is similar to drywall tape. Duct "tape" is not legal in many places to use on ductwork.

    Shop or Garage

I have an attached garage, and call it a garage. If I ever get a detached building, or rent/buy a space somewhere to work on cars, it is a shop. I even call my office warehouse/dyno bay the "shop"

    Re-chargable batteries.

The leaking is why I have bought Eneloop for all of the AA and AAA items in my house. I bought flashlights that can use 18650 batteries. I purchased a charger and some good Samsung cells from 18650batterystore.com a few years ago with great results. (there are lots of fake/mislabeled 18650...
