To be honest, I had reasonable treatment from my insurance after my house fire. It was a lightning strike and primarily burned in the attic. The major damage to the home was water damage (even though they were careful) from the fire fighting in the attic and electrical damage from the strike...

Easy to armchair quarterback here, so take it with a grain of salt. I have both lived in a house with a similar setup to the attached garage and it was a miserable thing that was cursed frequently. I have also inherited my Dad's shop in recent years which is "up on a hill". It is not great...

In Florida it is nearly required. Helps a ton if you ever plan on selling your house. Some of them are even assumable by the new owner. The price includes the treatment with stuff I can't get and the expertise to know what is in your area and how it attacks.

I also feel as mentioned before, I think your leverage on those little wheels is going to be an issue. Adding leverage with a long bar is going to be like a 3 foot breaker bar on a 1/4 inch socket, something is going to break. I've dropped bikes off of stands before, and it isn't a pleasant...
