    The Local Hardware Store

In my neck of the woods in Florida there is S.W.Travis Hardware which surprisingly, in a region with little history preservation, has been around since the 1800's (that's really old for Florida). https://travishardware.com/

    Lightning hit

I had a hit on my house and the rafters had to be replaced because the sap was boiled out of them. I was 30 feet away at the time, so won the lottery that counted. If I had even been knocked out, I would have probably died in the ensuing fire. The fire was not as serious because I live down...

36x40 Attached Garage / Mudroom Build - Layout Suggestions

I'm trying to understand the difference between the two elevations you pictured. One appears to be a rear view of a different orientation. What is the reasoning behind orientating the new garage differently. Do you have that option? Also, you should definitely put a sink in the garage/shop...

    NewAge Cabinets reviews and tips

I've had good luck contacting them directly. While we used to have a distributor on here who could answer a lot of questions, he retired from selling NewAge stuff a while back. Most of what somebody on here would reply (like me) is purely about what they currently have or speculation. I'd go...

Directional boring? Anyone DIY a conduit under a drive/road?

to be fair, the best option for internet for some of us is existing cable infrastructure. Not all are using it for cable TV. Oddly, I have Starlink, cable internet and fiber at my two properties (long story).

    Garage paint scheme

I couldn't quite see anything in the plaque, but a Grand Sport of that year must be pretty rare. That's gotta be the ultimate Riv! They are a little imposing as a project car for me due to the sheer amount of special "stuff" (usually lots of options on those) and the limited repro/NOS/used...

    Garage paint scheme

No offense, but that is way too much shop and lift for fixing that fan!

    Garage paint scheme

Nice '68. Seeing all the shop paint jobs like mine, I'm wondering if I stole mine from one of you! I know my inspiration was based on looking at shops on here.

    Garage paint scheme

My shop was clean and neat after a project so I took a picture. I had to go back to 2020 to find that one. The subject of the thread was paint jobs and I wanted a picture that showed the ceiling and lights, which were a big lifestyle improvement when I redid my garage. That said, my shop is...

    Garage paint scheme

I wanted a bit of color (and a lot of light), so I went for light gray, red stripe, medium gray. With a gray urethane floor and drop ceiling with restaurant kitchen washable tiles and drop in LED panels. No shadows in my shop!

NewAge upper wall cabinet gas struts

I posted a specific strut from Amazon here a while back for the same thing. The problem is that they come and go so much on the site that when I go back to that link, they don't exist anymore. One of the new ones only lasted a little more than a year. Maybe I'll try one of yours.

    Experience with equipment skates?

I was really looking for folks with experience with skates and some of the options there. I've gotten that. That there are other pieces of equipment for moving things I am aware. That you move different things different ways I am aware. I was probably hasty about my examples, but be assured...

    Experience with equipment skates?

Thanks for all the info. The review videos were particularly useful because I am pretty much down to the different Venvor ones in the video above and the Strongway ball wheeled ones. The Strongway ones are very low, but not real confident how they would move on the floor I have, and they are...

    Experience with equipment skates?

Yeah, some things are light enough to move like that, but others not so much. I may have implied that in my posts, but "lift one end" is sometimes with mechanical help. As far as the ones mentioned in the last couple of posts. I have a number of these when I was doing the furniture, and they...

    Experience with equipment skates?

(Sorry, long response, just trying to explain what I was looking for in this thread) I'm rearranging a shop that I inherited. So, the usages are varied. Generally moving stuff on a concrete floor, so "off-road" wheels not really required. Would like ones as low profile as possible. The...
