    How many amps does it take to......

    The power company is required only to provide one drop per address, anything additional becomes commercial. Not always, I had the local EMC drop a transformer and a meter to my shop in 2002 for the grand total of $25 bucks, and I pay a residential rate. My shop was permitted and inspected.
