Small world...I'm where you are lol. I read about this recently as well. It ***** every time I see a deal on something from Sears to have to drive all the way across the bay but whatever. It's sad where the Craftsman brand has ended up.

US General makes great tool boxes. I got mine and there was a small cosmetic defect and they knocked a huge amount off the price, and it was already on a great sale. My only complaint on mine is that the top lid will slam down if you don't watch it, which knocks the paint off...not a huge deal...

My shifter is one thing that I'll say I REALLY do not care for on my car. It's a long, clunky throw and for some reason some of our cars (mine included) really does not like transitions to and from 2nd gear. I have thought about getting one of those Barton's but that's a lot of money for a...

I've seen some people on here praise Weaver. I looked them up a while back. I think they were $1600.

I bought most of my stuff from Sears from sales. You could check slickdeals for deals and get them when they go on sale.

I have 2 of them with bamboo tops. They rock. Of course now that I have the 8ft work bench, they're slid up underneath for the time being Since I'm out of room. Get them if you can.

I think mine may be a bit weighed down to not have the bottom bracket mounted on the back. I like the idea of leaving the bottom channel open to be used for other things though. I just don't think I can do it. I have stuff in the cabs, as well as stacked on top of them.

That is really interesting the way you have yours installed with cabs NOT installed in the bottom channel. I don't think I have seen it done that way before.

That is personal preference. If you want it...get it. I don't have any of the end caps on mine.

This thread has pretty much confirmed that my original desired size of 24x40 is perfect for me (as a minimum size lol).

Those ones at woot...the main reason I am still debating on getting them is because each one comes with 2 32" gear track channels, end caps, and screws. That's highly unusual.

Man tbh that was like nearly 2 years ago. I wanna say it was like $149 or something but I cannot remember and I believe they discontinued them.
