Still looking

I could make one out of sheet metal but I wanted to be as authentic as possible, the originals are plated & they have a specific decorative design on them, I could’ve also taken one off another brand of toolbox but they would also lack the design.

My father unexpectedly passed in November, I still have everything, even though everyone wants stuff, I won’t give them anything, bunch of vultures, I won’t let anyone in the garage to dig around, I’ve got so many people being annoying, the tools, old stuff we hung up on the walls, my dads car...

I’ll check with him, I hate the idea of destroying an original Craftsman USA ratchet but whatever he wants since it’s his.

It has a button, I just don’t like the idea of gutting another ratchet, these things are old, they aren’t making them anymore, I know there are a lot of them still but to me Craftsman made in the USA tools are pieces of history, I’ll see what he wants to do, he’s got a few others that work...

I have a Craftsman 44975, 1/2 ratchet, an old one with the oil spot on top, it belongs to a friend of mine, it was his dads, does anyone know what kit would be a good substitute? Like one from a different company or another Craftsman one that might fit? It still has the switch/paw inside it...

I’d say, I got into contact with him & like I said above, he quit answering me. Plus I’ve heard from other members that their experiences with him giving things away weren’t great and ended up going nowhere, so it is what it is, I don’t know.

Yeah, that’s true, maybe I’ll sell the other two I have, they’re from the 60s, maybe I’ll still sell this one, I’m just trying to determine what would be worth listing, I can do the work without them.
