Its almost time for a new post detailing how snap on will not survive the next decade...we do buy HF floor jacks...beat the snot out of them and then off to scrap...course they dont have a power cord

Mid-grade tools? Kobalt vs Husky vs ???

I have bought kobalt for when i need to bend the wrench to snake in to a bolt in a miserable location or cut up for my old utica torque wrench.(wrench heads) ...kobalt chrome finish seems a step above and they have gotten the job done....cant complain especially when i crank open the blow torch...

    Anybody switching to cheaper tools?

For stuff we beat to death then yes...use many cheap screwdrivers as chisels and prybars....for when it matters i break, out the starett and snappy stuff....my 50+ year old craftsman stuff i have just waxed up and use now for talking points when we start arguing over why anybody would not buy...

With sky rocketing prices Will Snap-On survive the decade

In 1980 i lost (or so he says) my dads snap on 3/8 ratchet he bought in the 60's...he paid 25clams for replacement and i never heard the end of it....i was also blamed i let his allstate jack box ourside (if tool came in a box he kept the box) but he was the last one using it..id give my right...

Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

How the hell can the chinesse fork lift driver run into a box and not leave a hole is magical...my bottom tray was crushed....went with a black bottom tray (HF repkacement) and it looks great on my green tool cart

Move over Snap-on have a viable competitor for ratchets

Did you order repair kit?....when it breaks can you take to koken truck and get free replacement.....snap on is high dollar and there screwdrivers do ****...never did like them...but its 2 days for me for a repair kit and i just turned in a 25plus year old black hard handled screwdriver that was...

Favorite not exactly a screwdriver, screwdriver?

Only tool that fits the narrative i have ever felt comfortable using more then once is the Whia bit driver and the Vessel.....nice strong magnets in both and the handles feel like they should feel....Vessel bits are a class above everything else i have ever tried....

    Chainsaws

Who in there right mind would use a 12inch bar on a 24inch diameter tree???...well ok i have seen stranger things....80clam snappy ratchet used as a hammer so i get your point...the lite weight echo works dam nice for its intended purpose and it does not beat you to death....its a good choice...

I replaced the friction slides, one drawer is very tight

Its not the slides..its the box....photo elucidates how to check box to see if it is square....mesaure corners in such a manner and u will may be need another person/wife to assist...superlube is only stuff i use on any slide

    Lowes, now sears

Yea,,,add me to that list...they replaced a busted tool with no questions asked....the kobalt wrenches i would cut and reform for a particular need....seemed to hold up well even after that abuse....always thought chrome finish was excellent as well.....have not bought craftsman line tool in years

I replaced the friction slides, one drawer is very tight

Do a quick measure to determine how square the box truly is...its not your the drawer.. box more than likely is not precisly square...i can post a pic if you need a visual
