I enjoy the old tools that I got. I like the history of 'em, I enjoy looking at 'em, but most of all I enjoy using 'em! I am always looking forward to the next project so I can put them to work. If that makes me a tool polisher than I guess I am what I am. But I don't ridicule someone for the...
Nice set of -V- metric. I'm a fan of the old grey and black crown logo metric tools. I have a set like that myself, looking for an old DBE metric set but they rare and expensive.
If you are working on old tractors and equipment you might want to consider some long handle ratchets. One of my most used tool is an old Proto 5450 15” long ½” drive ratchet. That thing is strong as an ox and does well with loosening old rusted fasteners. That ratchet new costs a lot of money...
Hey Chris, I farm for a living and went with the Carhartt Mayne lightweight bibs and have not been disappointed. They are pretty durable despite the light weight, and they definitely keep the rain out. Only thing is make sure that you order a size smaller than you usually ware, they run large. I...
Nice work! I will have to give it a try with my craftsman, looks like the pin is easy enough to drive out. Anything is better than how it is now, very floppy.
It is mainly because of the locking feature. I would love to get a set of the 120xps flex heads, but I don't think they have them with the lock. I guess I am hung up on this lock business, I have a craftsman flex head but every time I use it, it slips out of position....very annoying.
Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad to hear that they hold up well. I think I will invest in the locking flex head set, they seem to be very reasonably priced.
I'm looking at getting a set of GearWrench locking flex head ratchets, 84 teeth. I have seen in the past forums about the 84 teeth GW ratchets having problems. Has GearWrench fixed the problems or are there still issues? Seems like a great price, never had any GearWrench before. Thanks for any info.
I just got these babies in the mail today. I never owned any ratcheting wrenches before and need to get some to replace the starter motor on the Ford tractor. I found these on ebay for 80 bucks brand new and couldn't pass them up. They are awfully thin wrenches, they feel more like a tappet...
The letter marking on Craftsman tools indicates which foundry/company made the tool for Sears Craftsman. There is some belief that some foundry/companies used better stock materials and produced a more durable tool than others. The =V= and -V- series USA Craftsman tools made by Moore Drop...
