did mine out of the 48" rulers from HF and rand a bolt through the middle of 12" pieces so that i had a slot on each side. still in the process of making mine bot i have quite a bit done.
Here's the new set I just got in. ..All us made...One socket didn't have etched side...other than that everything showed I and was good...

Got an Idea maybe someone else has both...The ernst socket rails are nice...a little pricey but nice. The Harbor Fright (HF) rails are ok but they dont twist lock and the little ball seems to come out of the socket holder and can't be used...I know you can get packs of the ernst socket pegs on...

I don't have any issues with losing the small.ones be you can always bend it to fit your needs...ie make more than one single bend down the middle...I got this one from Walmart and it was just a tall dish rack with legs on each side...$7 for about 32" of storage.

Yes you could...I didn't have a vice so I clamped each section between two pieces of 2x6 against my work bench and used a dead blow gently until I got the bend I wanted.

tried not to kill my daughter for thinking my magnet tipped screwdrivers were chisels for concrete...at least she has an interest in the garage with me though...LOL
a small pick sometimes breaks the seal for a little WD40...or depending on where its at i use the open end of a wrench over the hard end the vacuum fitting like using it over a bolt. and gently push down on the edge of the vacuum hose...usually slides right off...unless your trying this trick...
if you didnt want to modify the actual cabinet frame you could simply drill a few holes in that horizontal cross bar that looks like it went to a slider and hang the shelf from that instead of the cabinet frame...worst case senario you dont like it and go with your thought on tack welding a...
try a price match in the store...they do it with major appliances and what not...the discount code isn't the same and they usually need a manager to approve...but make a convo about it and they will usually do it.
if its the cart i'm thinking of...try and stay away from the black carts...pretty flimsy...a year or so and you'd wish you spent the extra fifty on the red...
