I would highly suggest trying 63/37 solder instead of the 60/40 that most people wind up using. It goes directly from solid to liquid without that "plastic" stage and is much easier to work with.

I've got a set of the black Rhino ramps as well. They've held up fine. Just don't do what I did and drive right over the top! I had to dig out the jack to get the car off the ramp. They still work just fine.

I agree completely. I'm a certified Dell tech but mainly work on the Optiplex models. A blinking amber light is almost always a power supply but could be a mother board. If it's the board you'll often see some capacitors oozing.
