Need a burke bar... Which one?

They also make a smaller version(either bon tool or marshallton)48" i think ,that has a 90 degree on the opposite end. This is my go to bar anymore, still love my full size burke, but this is alot lighter.

Need a burke bar... Which one?

One option if you get it replaced would be to cut the handle on the straight part. insert a piece of rebar or solid bar stock in the handle and weld back together with some plug welds to secure inside piece. this will make it heavier but also a lot more durable. I did this to my hickey bar(for...

    Today, at the salvage yard..

    Leaf Rakes and lawn tools.

3/4" electrical conduit makes a great albeit heavy replacement handle for the fiberglass handles on most rakes. I broke mine unloading(darn Ginkos) and used the conduit. I only use it for unloading now.

Roof Pitch in NE Penna for a 30x50?

4/12(can be less with a smaller to the weather exposure but not recommended) would be minimum for a shingle roof and fine for a metal roof. When i worked for a pole builder back in the day,4/12 was their standard unless otherwise specified.

Not a great day to pour concrete - but I did. Should be fine right?

I would leave the plastic on the pad as long as possible. The old timers I worked with always said it won't freeze the first night but the second night is a different story.

    Remember your PPE

Matches, yes matches. The book kind are great for pulling things out of your eye (if the object is visible and not burned in) Rip one out and the ripped end has fingers that work great. If anyone asks what you are going to do with the match, tell em your gonna burn it out. I just had mine...
