I do a bit of 3d printing with a Creative and a Prusa, and as time permits I'll certainly do more. It is a great way to prototype things and sometimes it can make the perfect part for something! I'll check out that game too!
We lose power mostly in the winter due to above ground lines that are taken down by tree. On average perhaps a day or two per year, but sometimes it can be longer. Last year there were other people close by that had power outages that lasted 7+ days.
The battery packs have integrated Enphase IQ8 microinverters that are grid creation capable. These can create a 240V grid, both synchronized and unsynchronized. The 120V neutral is created in an autotransformer built into the smart switch.
The batteries hang on the wall, and I did a layout...
Update
With the solar system installed and working I have moved onto the battery storage project. My primary goal with the battery storage solution is to allow for storage of excess energy from the solar production and use it during non solar production times. I also wanted to design a system...
When I was building I considered the Tesla tiles but they were not available. Given the shade constraints it was critical for me to have a system that uses microinverters, and that limits choices.
With that in mind , the LG 380s are a very efficient panel that looks good.
An small update - Solar Installed! I installed 53 LG 380W panel with Enphase IQ7+ microinverters, 20.14Kw total power.
Next up is a 4x 10kwh Enphase Battery system with solar, grid, and genset integration. It will give me great off grid power with solar and genset to battery storage. I can...
Yea, I imported it from Japan a while back. 1991, good condition (no rust), R34 block and turbos and R34 brakes. It is a fantastic car to drive.. so light a nimble.
They are direct mounted, and it works well since they are designed for high ceilings ( 14ft 6" ). They are wired 240Vs since at 120Vs it would be almost 20 amps.
Jeff
I would say that overall I had reasonably good luck finding excellent skilled craftsman, but that was as much to do with my builder who has been building up an excellent team of people over the last 20 years. Both he and I are reasonably worried that when these people retire, it will be...
A few things happening in the garage these days:
Both lifts are in good use now. The Subaru is getting a new engine that I finally got some time to work on.
I also started some work on my 2021 Suburban - First to outfit with some radio gear.
I installed a new Yaesu FTM0-400XDR, which...
