Redoing my garage.... again (organization thread pic heavy)

I've always gone by that adage "get the biggest bench you can"

Redoing my garage.... again (organization thread pic heavy)

Been busy doing life things, but i did get my ppe hooks worked out. First attempts left a bunch to be desired. But once i got the right shape, I hammered out 2 more. Quick pass over the belt grinder have me a nice flat section to go against the wall. Then a couple holes and screws and boom.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Am I the only one that didn't see the leg on right and was wondering how this was possible?

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Coat hook of sorts to hold ppe in my metal working section of my shop. I want the bottom hook for jacket/ apron, and the top for welding mask/ face shield. Really any of these I've done would work, but i never expected to enjoy anvil work so much. Now I'm making excuses to smash on glowing...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Last night on the left, tonight on the right. I still need to cut my welded handle off, but I'm not sure that it's done. I tried to mimic the best of last night, but I wanted to stretch it out and clean up the square of the spike first. I also wanted a more pronounced top section without...

Redoing my garage.... again (organization thread pic heavy)

Got my table saw assembly bench back together and back in it's home. And started moving tools to the right zone even if there isn't any storage for them yet. Just getting them in the right zone let's me see and know what i need to make storage for. Once i know that i can build out a...

Redoing my garage.... again (organization thread pic heavy)

That is 100% true and something I'm working on. But I'm in a delicate balance between parking spots and storage. Because of the overpopulation issue, I put wheels under things that are too big to lift every time I use them. Those items need a parking spot and that takes up space that would...

Redoing my garage.... again (organization thread pic heavy)

This a dirty cad of my layout. First one is labels, but the second one shows my intended zones. Metal in purple stays in its own section keeping the dirty away. woodworking being so much more space consuming, makes a c shape around the left. That position gives me the garage door (if open)...

    Air Hose Fittings

I have 3 sitting in my stash that won't hold a seal. They still work great with a tool plugged in, but they don't seal on their own. Edit: this is a wear item and they can be rebuilt. I was pointing out the quality not the leaking. They are still in my stash because they are worth it...

    Retractable Air Hose Reel Recommendations

I like the ⅜ fittings. I ran a ¾" rapid air system and it physically pains me to have to choke it down to ¼npt

    Lift for Pick up hitch

Fwiw, a hand crank and cable can be bought cheap and bolted to any platform

    Lift for Pick up hitch

Best version I've seen was on yt. Guy did the hf bed mounted hydraulic one, and modified it. He added a hf winch to it so he had both a cable lift and the hydraulic jack type lift. His was mounted in the bed and tucked way out of the way better than even a swing case does. But you could...

Redoing my garage.... again (organization thread pic heavy)

I have a 24x24 attached 2 car garage with some attic and some angled ceiling, but everything is 8-12ish feet tall. When I first moved in, nothing had a place and it was terrible. I added some stuff along the way to get more function, but I'm currently in a "tear out all down and start from...

    Automating dust collection

Is turning it on and leaving it on while people are in the shop not an option? Because then it doesn't cycle, and you can you blast gate controllers to ensure whatever tool in use has flow. Then when nobody is in there just shut it off
