Had to use an adapter to go threadless for the stem and carbon bars. Front wheel bearings should show up today. Then it’s bar tape and fine tuning time. Oh, bought flats, cause I’m just not ready to buy shoes.

Parts and cables switched over. She’s gone from a 3 by 8 to a 2 by 10. Got the dura ace rear shifting nice. Had to keep the Treks front due to the tube mount, but it’s shifting nicely too. New bottom bracket to use the Rotor crankset.

Front wheel does not want to spin. Opened the wheel up to find these press fit bearings. I was expecting the usual balls and cone nuts. New ones arrive tomorrow. Thanks Amazon.

The Trek in its current form weighed in at 22.1 pounds. The new setup, minus the chain, bar tape, and some cable housing weighs in at 17.9 pounds. I’m excited to think we can get this ride under 20.

I may have come upon a Cervelo carbon bike, complete, but with a broken derailleur hanger. So, I’ll pull the stuff off and toss them on the Trek roadbike. Started the teardown.

A rack on the roof of the pop-up is a good camping solution, but won’t help when you aren’t towing, and the weight of the e-bikes is a few pounds. You need a raised rack. Just drill a few nice holes in those pristine bed rails, little extrusion risers, and crossbars.
