I also tried the freezer method with no success. My junk HF puller would not fit under the bearing. The foot on the end of the puller leg would not fit between the bearing and the pulley. I considered grinding the feet thinner on my HF puller but I had a good small 2-jaw puller that would fit...

Don, I used the stock column in my car so the original VIN plate is in its original location. I shortened the column, added a bearing to the end, and welded on an adapter to allow using stock C4 linkage to the rack. I'm pretty sure the parts/directions came from Paul. Steve
