Winter 2018 For Christmas I bought myself a cheap Ender 3 3d printer. First thing off it was a RaspberryPi3 case. Untitled by Michael Hagen, on Flickr Around the same time, I was tasked with making new workbenches for my area of the shop at work during their massive 6S, reorganizing efforts...

Well I bought it sight unseen with little information prior. It was used by a shop that fabbed handrails, and by the looks of the programs in the machine it was used for basic bolt on flanges. One of the workers that helped load it said it was a decent machine he liked using, but for some reason...

Fall 2017 Earlier in the year I had started searching craigslist and ebay for a deal on a mill. I figured something like a Bridgeport or similar, but of course most are $3k +. I even toyed with the idea of picking up a small Grizzly mill and eventually converting it to CNC, which would still...

Summer 2017 Started collecting some more useful garage stuff. Parts washer, blast cabinet, old oven and a 3'x7' metal rolling bench. The bench proved useful tearing apart and refinishing the rear end of the Talon. My buddy prepping his VC for powdercoat. The bronze powder...

Re: First time for everything, 24x36 overhaul. Its definitely awesome to have a space to work on things after living with less than adequate apartment garages and the nosey neighbors always close at hand. But even so, we've slowly started outgrowing this setup over the last five years...

And on with the backstory.. Fall 2016 Between toying with the Talon and the NA Miata, I didn't have the resources, or time to focus on the Falcon. So I ended up trading it for an unconventional donor for the Falcon, a '92 Lexus SC300. The plan is to adapt the IFS and IRS... maybe even throw in...

Thanks, Chippewa Falls. Awesome. This was my grandfathers, then my dads. It sat quite awhile, but in '09 my dad gave me the keys at my HS grad party. Lucky me! One of these days I'll get it back on the road.

Summer 2016 cont. I had picked up a 3n1 Tweco welder the past holiday season but had yet to take it out of its box. First project would be a new home for it and the other welding supplies. I had this US General mechanics cart for a couple years and figured it'd be an ok base to start with...

Summer 2016 With so much free space in the garage we decided to have a late house warming party of sorts. What kind of activities would a bunch of mid-20 year olds want to do you ask? A pine wood derby of course! As well as a few drinkning games and flip flop grilled chicken, So I spent a...

Whoowee, looks like it’s been awhile since I shared anything here. Nothing super drastic has happened since the end of 2015, but I’ll do my best to get this thread back up to date. Spring 2016 Armed with new lighting and a few more outlets, I decided I wanted a(nother) project car. My first...

Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

Luckily the side panel is hinged at the bottom and swings down, so access is still easy without cutting the cart.

Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

Since my Tweco 211i doesn't fit most welding carts, I decided to repurpose my old HF 4 drawer cart. Took a little wrestling, but the welder fits underneath. Currently rigging up a tank stand. Should be finished and installed tomorrow.

And we have light! Went with 9 t8 4' fixtures in the main and 8 t8 4' wrap fixtures in the workshop. Still need to add a couple can lights to the loft area. Downside, now I can actually see the mess I've been working around. Untitled by Michael Hagen, on Flickr Untitled by Michael Hagen, on...
