    The M18 Random Orbital Sander

With their standardized detachable power cords and consistent dust port sizes I'd almost argue only so in the festool ecosystem. I have a similar issue with my Makita LXT sanders - almost too much power and drop off after the first 30% or so of battery, but lowering the speed setting balances...

    Tiny Workshop Inspiration

Congrats on the house in Hawaii Stephen's 8x6 that you featured previously might be a good starting point, with four additional feet in width you might be able to fit another workbench and some automotive tools. You do not seem to be the type of guy to want to work out of a space that small...

    Dust Collection Rough In

I second moving to a 5" or 6" pipe, cheap to future proof now (unless your DC is too small to handle it). For instance a 6" pipe would allow you headroom to do dust collection at the cabinet and above the blade. Will your plan allow you to exit at the floor? It sounds like you are already going...

One of my favorites - the narration is sort of like Frank Howarth meets Richard Briers..

Sizing mini split for my new garage with cathedral ceiling

I'm about 30 miles south of you with a 22x21 attached garage with almost 10ft ceilings and an east facing door and I'd also recommend a Mr Cool DIY. I have an 18k unit and have it set to 72 degrees 24/7 and have no problems at all maintaining that temp. And this is in a garage built in the 70s...

Below 265 SQ/FT Tiny Tokyo Shop

Have to agree with you there. A few years ago I chose the Makita track saw over the Festool primarily because of the consistent battery format and the ability to use the same batteries on 18v and 36v tools. I would hate to see them stop developing the 36v line in favor of the new battery system...

Who can repair a home audio circuit board? Polk powered sub died

If Polk will sell you a complete amp shipped with a warranty for $250 I would jump all over it. You could see if it is common problem on Club Polk (polk audio forums) or try calling Soundscape in Baltimore MD (a long time Polk Audio dealer) but honestly, by the time you consider your time...

Woodpecker and cedar siding-how to stop?

My father built a house in the mid-80's with cedar shingles, roof, and trim. Within a few years he had a pretty bad woodpecker problem. The only thing that worked consistently were the balloon 'scare eyes' under the eaves on each side of the house. The only caveats were that he had to move them...

Tire marks on NEW RaceDeck floor !!!

It may not necessary be the tire itself but the stuff you are driving over everyday (like asphalt, sealcoat, oil and other chemicals) that are sticking to the hot tire and making it onto your floor. If you park in the same space every night, maybe consider putting a darker color like espresso...

    Swisstrax in Ontario question

For whatever reason the RaceDeck free-flow seems to be more popular around here (not sure why, I have samples of both and they are quality products) so that may be why you haven't gotten a response. Off the top of my head 'Woody's Works' , "Rick's Audi" and "Dubber's Double" (search for them...

Thanks for the info on the floor and tracksaw. Maybe I missed it, but what is your plan for the floor in the basement?

Dennis, would you say that the 118" track is worth the nearly $200 premium over buying a second 55" track and a connector kit?
