Thanks for the pictures of your layout. It looks like you have 5 (?) loops, how large of an area are you heating?

    Slab heat, pump location question?

I'm no expert, but I would think the pump could cavitate - should air in the system become an issue. For that reason I'd probably try to keep it lower in the circuit. Just my thoughts..........

    Oil or propane?

1 Gal of #2 Fuel Oil = 139,000 Btu's vs the 92,000 Btu's for propane. So, I would think your propane unit might be more efficient then the oil heater but depends on it's vintage. The flue for the oil unit probably would need to be at least double-wall, but you'd want to check that out for sure...

    Vent running qustions. Exhaust pipe.

I'd suggest that you contact (e-mail) Modine with this question, and give them the model and serial number of the heater. http://www.modine.com/v2portal/modine.portal I've found over the years that they are very good company to work with and will assist you in getting the unit installed properly.

    Fiberglass insulation help please

I think it is a commercial OC product - you should be able contact your local supplier and they could tell you how many sqft per roll - as manufactured. see link for specs.... http://www.owenscorningcommercial.com/docs/datasheet/Certified_R_Metal_Bldg.pdf

    Infrared Tube Heater Questions?

I would think that two units would be the way to go. Looking at your layout (based on the picture) I'd suggest one located some-where between the two 10 x 10 (?) overhead doors, and perhaps the other in the general area of the man-door. "My heat loss is around 65000 btuh." Using the link...

    floor pour

I have a 40 x 56 pole barn and poured concrete in one-half of it to use for a shop area. That portion is finished, including 6 inch insulation most places. Installed a ceiling mounted hot-air funace which operates on a programable stat. it is set at around 50 F. over-night and ramps up to 62F...

    opinions on outdoor wood boilers

I would agree with the statements made in the other replies. I know that in this region, any commercial company regardless of size, can be held responsible for any act which does-not conform to EPA regulations. (so be careful out there) As to waste oil, you may want to review a few of the "true...
