I have mostly Flukes, but also an Astro AI that is all anyone needs for home use. It doesn't have a massive rubber boot like my 2 flukes, so I keep the Flukes in the garage where they're much more likely to be dropped, and the Astro upstairs.

Mitutoyo is the standard in Japanese manufacturing and is also used widely in US machine shops. I'm sure an import from HF will also be fine for your use and its easy to verify quality out of the box. Fowler is an import with a higher price than a similar product. Not sure if its worth it.

I have 2 or 3 by Vim, an Ez Red, and an Anex. They are all nice but anything like these aren't going to withstand a lot of torque on a frozen torx screw as they have fine teeth for a compact size. Tekton also makes one but not a flex head last I looked.
