Finished cleaning and repacking the bearings on the drawers of this Vidmar cabinet.
Started moving my (albeit meager) tool collection in!

More work in the big red Vidmar.
Started cleaning old gunked up bearings out with kerosene and repacking them with superlube. Got one drawer done, 4 to go.

Yeah no idea. I suspect whiskey was involved. Thankfully it had big ol' 8" casters welded to the bottom for moving it... :eyeroll:

Spent a couple hours grinding down the welds holding these two Vidmar cabinets together (idiot), then carefully cut the deeper parts with a cutoff wheel.
After some more pushing and pulling and thankfully only a small amount of damage to the body of the cabinets, got them separated.
I'll...
Vidmar toolbox I found in Craigslist for $100. Someone welded a top cabinet to a bottom cabinet and then welded casters on to it, but the welds are so bad I think a bit of grinding is going to let me separate them, refurbish them, and have storage good for a decade or so.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?
Last few days:
Added a Baltic birch plywood top to a rolling craftsman workbench that used to belong to my grandfather. This bench top came from a concrete yard and was used for forming cinder blocks on. It's probably 30 layers, 1.75" thick...

Replumbed the fittings on my compressor (CH 6.25hp/30gal) and added a ball valve so I have a pre-regulator shutoff.
Going to be replacing the pressure switch, regulator and gauges soon, wouldn't mind recommendations.

Cleaned and oiled an old tire iron I got from a junker a few year back. Was going to put it in a piece of art but never got around to it. Found it on a scrap shelf today and decided to wire wheel it and oil it up nice.
It says "Ken-tool G-23"...
Went and picked up some scrap for cheap: 100' of 1" X 3/16" bar stock (about 65" ea), and 100' of 1/2" x 1/8" (39" ea)
Got a few welding projects in mind.

Pulled out the plasma and cut 4 table leg plates for my welding table. 3/8" plate, 4.5 x 3.75 to bolt some recovered Vidmar casters to. Will drill them out before mounting once I have the casters in hand.
